F4 U.S. and FR Americas Alum Takes Next Step in Racing Career While Piloting a Ligier JS P4
SHREVEPORT, La. (February 3, 2025) – After spending the last two years running Ligier racecars in Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas), Landan Matriano Lim will continue his driving career, climbing in the cockpit of a Ligier JS P4 for the 2025 race season. Joining the World Racing League (WRL) grid in the GTU class, Matriano Lim will be the head of the first LMP4 program in North American endurance racing.
“I am extremely excited to announce that my next career move will introduce a new driver program into the endurance racing world,” said Matriano Lim. “With this opportunity for 2025, I am ready to show my dedication, not only as a driver, but also as a valuable team player both on and off track. I understand that being the first to run an LMP4 in endurance racing in North America will not be an easy task, but I will prove this is a promising route for future drivers.”
Matriano Lim and his team, 739Racing, are set on proving the LMP4’s reliability and capability through the lengthy WRL endurance races. With an average of 15 hours of racing each weekend, the program allows for not only the development of drivers, but of the LMP4 racing program, itself. Working with Rapscallion Motorsports, the team will support 739Racing as they get the car on its feet—or wheels. Sporting the No. 739, the Ligier JS P4 will pay tribute to Matriano Lim’s history.
In their debut year, Matriano Lim and 739Racing are working to grow the LMP4 program in all aspects. The program shows much promise, with hopes of drivers from different backgrounds taking advantage of this one-of-one car. Matriano Lim will be joined by another F4 U.S. and FR Americas alumni, Jake Bonilla, as a co-driver for six of the nine rounds of the WLR endurance series. In addition, the team is seeking other drivers who are eager to join them in developing the program and pushing the Ligier JS P4 beyond its perceived capabilities.
WRL is a pro-am endurance race series which hosts both regional and national championships. The national championship consists of 11 rounds and participates at world-renown tracks such as Daytona International Speedway, Watkins Glen International, and Circuit of The Americas. Each weekend typically consists of an eight-hour race on Saturday and seven-hour race on Sunday, with a few exceptions, such as Daytona, where a single 14-hour race is held. With five different car classes, Matriano Lim and his LMP4 program will compete in the top category, the GTU class. The GTU class has consisted of only Sebeco NP01s in previous years, so it will be quite the proving grounds for the Ligier JS P4.
Matriano Lim moves to WRL after finishing eighth in the 2024 FR Americas point standings and earning five top-five finishes. In 2023, he earned the year-end Omologato Perfectly-Timed Pass Award in F4 U.S. after performing the most successful overtakes of any driver in the series, gaining 64 positions from the green to checkered flag throughout the course of the season. He was also the 2024 Formula Pro USA F3 Champion.
The 2025 World Racing League season opens this weekend, February 7-9, 2025, at Eagles Canyon Raceway in Decatur, Texas. You can find a livestream of the races on the World Racing League YouTube channel.
