CHARLOTTE (January 18, 2025) – Earlier this week it was announced that another graduate of the Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH) Open-Wheel Ladder is about to join the INDYCAR grid, with Formula Regional Americas Championship (FR Americas) race winner Jacob Abel signing with Dale Coyne Racing for the 2025 season.
Abel will join the Illinois-based organization as the full-time driver of the No. 51. One of three drivers set to compete for the Rookie of the Year honors, Abel earned the seat with Dale Coyne Racing after earning two wins, three poles and 10 INDY NXT podiums last season.
The Louisville, Ky., native was a regular in both the Formula 4 United States Championship (F4 U.S.) and FR Americas paddocks from 2017-2021, securing three wins in FR Americas, 15 podiums and countless top-10s, while finishing as high as fourth in the championship point standings.
Abel will test with Dale Coyne Racing at The Thermal Club later this month before the 2025 INDYCAR season kicks off on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., on March 2.
