June 18, 2024 – It was a hot one this past weekend in Indy as the FR Americas Championship made their first trip to the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway in recent years. With no previous data to draw upon, Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport used their eight-driver lineup to gather data and fine tune their Ligier JSF3 machines to earn three race wins, eight podium results, and 17 top-ten finishes over the triple-header weekend.
“It was a challenging weekend but a good one for us,” explained Teena Larsen. “Temperatures were well over 90F for the majority of the weekend which provided challenges to all competitors and our equipment. Working with the series to provide extra cooling ducts for the cars, we were able to work through it and have another solid performance, including a sweep of the top five positions in the third and final race of the weekend.”

It was a Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport 1 – 2 – 3 in qualifying as Patrick Woods-Toth led the day ahead of Ryan Shehan and Titus Sherlock as the trio locked out the front three positions. Behind them, Jett Bowling, Landan Matriano Lim, Nicole Havrda, and Ricco Shlaimoun put seven team drivers in the top-ten with Kevin Janzen on the outside looking in as he would line up for the first race of the weekend on the inside of row seven.
When wheel-to-wheel racing began, Woods-Toth earned a pair of victories, claiming the podium's top step in races one and three as he book-ended the weekend. When he did not win, teammate Ryan Shehan found his way to the winner’s circle in race two. With the two drivers entering the weekend tied in the FR Americas point standings and claiming the three available wins, Shehan was the most consistent, adding a pair of second-place finishes while Woods-Toth finished sixth in race two. Courtesy of his three podium results, Shehan now has the outright lead in the championship as the series reaches the midway point.
Jett Bowling had his best race weekend of the season, turning his Saturday morning sixth pace qualifying effort into three top-five results, including a second-place podium result in race two. With a pair of fourth-place results in races one and three, Bowling scored major points in all three races as he begins to flex his muscles. Nicole Havrda started her Indy weekend a little slower than she would have liked clocking the ninth-fastest lap in qualifying and finishing race one in P8, but she turned it up on Sunday in races two and three, climbing to the third step of the podium on Sunday morning, and garnering another top-five result in race three on Sunday afternoon.
Titus Sherlock’s first and last sessions on track were the only two that he would like to remember from the weekend as a third-place effort in qualifying and a P3 result in race three sandwiched with a pair of disappointing finishes in races two and three. Ricco Shlaimoun was able to earn a pair of points scoring results in races one and two with ninth and eighth place results, while Kevin Janzen broke into the points in race three finishing ninth. Landan Matriano Lim’s best result of the weekend was seventh in race one as he will shift his focus, along with the rest of the Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport team, to the next event.
Larsen continued, “It is a quick turnaround as we just head one state over for our next event this coming weekend. Back-to-back weekends, and hopefully back-to-back winning sweeps.”
