AUSTIN, Texas (November 2, 2023) – Callum Hedge will lead the field to the starting grid after securing the pole for Race 1 of the Mission Foods Austin SpeedTour. With a chance to lock in the 2023 Formula Regional Americas Championship Powered by Honda (FR Americas) Drivers Championship in Race 1, Hedge (No. 17 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) set a fast lap of 2:03.575 to better teammate and championship rival Ryan Shehan (No. 66 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) by just 0.776-seconds. Oliver Westling (No. 1 JENSEN Ligier JS F3), who is fighting to finish in the top three in the point standings, rounded out the top three in qualifying.

FR Americas had two practice sessions earlier on Thursday morning. Hedge led both sessions. Westling was second quick in Practice 1, but it was Shehan who was just 0.131-seconds behind Hedge in Practice 2. Cole Kleck (No. 11 Speed Factory Ligier JS F3), returning to FR Americas competition this weekend for the first time since Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in June, rounded out the top three during Practice 1, whereas, Cooper Becklin (No. 19 Crosslink Kiwi Motorsport Ligier JS F3) was third quick in Practice 2.

FR Americas hits the track for Race 1 from the Mission Foods Austin SpeedTour tomorrow morning.
