February 9, 2022 - Mac Clark, 17 year-old from Ontario, Canada, is set to compete for Future Star Racing in the Formula Regional Americas Championship Powered by Honda (FR Americas). After competing in the Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda (F4 U.S.) in 2021, Clark is moving up the ranks as the team prepares for its season opener at NOLA Motorsports Park on April 8th.
"Cannot wait to get started with Future Star Racing, they are a great group and I'm ready to start the season strong," says Clark. "I thank Mark and Alora McAlister with my whole heart for this incredible opportunity. I won't let them down. I'm grateful to be working with Al Unser Jr and the FSR, we are hungry for that championship!" Mac Clark was the winningest driver and Vice Champion with F4 U.S. last season.
"We are thrilled to have Mac Clark join us in the FR Americas paddock in 2022," said Sydney Davis Yagel, General Manager, FR Americas. "He showed great potential as our Vice Champion in F4 U.S. competition last year winning a season-high five races. As he continues his climb on the FIA developmental ladder and the Road to F1, we're excited to see what he accomplishes this season with Future Star Racing."
Al Unser Jr, FSR Director of Competition, will play a big role in Mac Clarks season. "We have had our eye on Mac Clark for quite some time now, we tested him in our FR car last year and he did a phenomenal job. We are very excited that Mac has joined the Future Star Racing Team because he truly is a Future Star," says Al Unser Jr.
Clark's racing career began at the age of 10 with International Karting then transitioned to F1600. He was the youngest Canadian to ever win a F1600 Championship in the year 2020.
The series will hit six different tracks from the span of April to November. Updates on the Future Star Racing team and Mac Clark can be found on social media listed below.
