Dakota Dickerson held off championship leader Jacob Abel Saturday morning to claim the pole for the F3 Americas Championship Powered by Honda Round 6 at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Driving the orange No. 72 Stress Engineering Services, Inc. machine, Dickerson beat the qualifying record by more than a second with a fast lap of 1:32.375.
"I was able to snag the pole by about four tenths of a second today," Dickerson said. "The Global Racing Group guys put together a great set-up not just for me but for all my teammates. We had three of the four cars in the top-five. It's a beautiful day at Pitt Race and we are really looking forward to the race later this afternoon."
Abel with a fast time of 1:32.829 will share the front row with Dickerson, while Baltazar Leguizamon and series-newcomer Quinlan Lall will start in Row 2.
